is a non-profit, State Licensed Adoption Agency whose goal
is to help people make informed decisions about adoption.
JFCS
Adoption Services:
- keep the central
focus of the adoption plan on the needs of the baby or
child
- give attention
to the unique needs of each individual involved in the
adoption plan
- recognize
that adoption is a lifelong process based on trust, honesty,
and mutual responsibility
ADOPTION
INFORMATION, through free consultation, helps
to explore options. Information support groups are also
offered.
HOMESTUDY
is completed for those pursuing adoption in accordance with
state regulations.
IDENTIFIED
ADOPTION education and preparation assists families
in locating a birthparent.
BIRTHPARENT
SERVICES include options counseling to birthparents
who are considering an adoption plan for their unborn child.
POST-PLACEMENT
SERVICES
provide in-home supervision by a JFCS social worker for
six months or until adoption is finalized.
POST-ADOPTION
SERVICES are offered in the form of family and/or
individual counseling by professionals sensitive to adoption
issues.
